Premiere ProDaVinci ResolveFinal Cut ProMedia ComposerView Capacity Used and Referenced by a Snapshot
Understand the capacity ‘Used’ and ‘Referenced’ by each snapshot from the ‘Snapshots’ interface of the web app.
WARNING
If you delete files/folders from the active spaces and don't see any increase in available storage, it means that the files/folders are still stored in a snapshot. To free up space, you need to remove the snapshot that contains the data. However, please note that deleting the snapshot will permanently remove the data and it cannot be recovered.
Step by Step
- Go to the menu bar and select Spaces, then choose Snapshots.
- From the 'Browsing' drop-down menu, select a space. By default, it will either be the current space or the first space that contains a snapshot. A snapshot is required for the space to appear in the drop-down menu.
- Click on the colored info box next to each snapshot to switch between ‘Referenced’ and ‘Used’
- 'Referenced' refers to the total size of the space when the snapshot was created, i.e. the the total size if you ‘Restore’ all of its contents.
- 'Used' indicates the current amount of data occupying the snapshot that will be deleted with it, i.e. only the capacity that is stored exclusively in the snapshot.
