As a Team Leader, your key responsibility is to manage permissions for the shared spaces allocated to you by System Admins.
Welcome to the creative.space Web App Quick Start guide for Team Leaders. In your role, you play a vital part in managing workflows and access to Spaces within the app. This guide is designed to help you understand and effectively use the features specific to your role.
As a Team Leader, your key responsibilities is to manage permissions for the shared spaces allocated to you by System Admins. Beyond that, you are able to do everything that a Team Member can, mainly navigating the storage and media assets.
Access Control
You have the authority to control who accesses specific spaces, folders, and files. However, it's important to note that you cannot create new Users and Groups, but you can define the level of access for existing ones.
When managing permissions:
- Remember that individual user rights will take precedence over group rights.
- The Recursive option ensures that any changes in permissions are applied to all files and subfolders within a Space.
On the Team page of the app, you have the ability to:
- View all users, groups, and their roles.
- Control group memberships in Grid view.
- View detailed information about users, including their active connections.
- Assign the Team Leader role to other team members for distributed leadership responsibilities.
Users must have at least read rights to the full path of an file from the Space down in order to access it.
We recommend granting access at the Group level.
With this approach you can quickly revoke a user's access by removing them from the Group.
As a Team Leader, you have the power to promote Team Members, Clients, and Users to Team Leader.
Folder Structure Templates
To enhance workflow efficiency, you can create folder templates with custom naming and permissions, which other team members can apply.
Creating Folder Templates
With creative.space, you can save a folder structure with files as a template that can be applied by filling out a form to populate custom variables and apply permissions.
- Mount a temporary Space to your desktop.
- Create your desired folder structure with files.
- Use square brackets [] to denote variables in the root folder's name.
- Back in the Web App, finalize the template by defining variable types and setting permissions.
- As the creator, you will own the folders created from your templates.

Ingest
You can browse and transfer folders and files from USB devices, as well as SMB and FTP network connections.
Snapshots
As a Team Leader, you have access to the Snapshots interface, which lets you browse and restore assets that have been modified or deleted. While System Admins manage Snapshots, you can access them for data recovery. Use the comparison feature to filter and label Snapshot contents for easier identification.
