View a preview, metadata, and available actions for an asset, which may be a file or a folder-as-a-file format such as RED clips with the .RDC extension.
Step by Step
- Go to the Libraries tab of the Spaces page.
- Select a library using the dropdown at the top of the left sidebar.
- In the ‘Viewport’, click on an asset.
- If you have permission to access the asset, the ‘Inspector’ will appear.
- A thumbnail is generated from the media. If it's a video, a random frame is used, which you can regenerate with the 'Refresh' icon.
- Depending on the media type, tabs will be displayed with additional information about the file.
- General Metadata
- MediaInfo - Support for most media formats with metadata for individual audio and video channels.
- ExifTool - Primarily for photography metadata, but also supports a wide range of media formats and properties including GPS coordinates and embedded XMP which can be used to identify the project file, application version, and files used to render from Premiere Pro.
- Vendor-specific Metadata
- REDLine - Embedded metadata from RED cameras.
- BlackmagicRAW - Embedded metadata from Blackmagic Design cameras.
- ARRIRawMetaExtract - Embedded metadata from ARRI cameras.
- Contents
- Zip Contents - View, select, and extract the contents of a Zip file.
- RDC Contents - View the individual files inside of the .RDC folder, which are accessible when the space is mounted to your desktop.
- (Optional) Click on a metadata value to copy it to your clipboard.
WARNING
Access Permissions for Libraries
All users with at least read access to a Space will see the Library all of the assets listed. However, they will only be able to inspect as asset if they have access rights to the underlying data, i.e. the same folder and file access permissions on the Spaces page.
