A purpose-built user interface to quickly and easily find the assets that have the properties you are looking for based on custom metadata tags.
Understanding the Interface
Sidebar
The Sidebar of the ‘Libraries’ page displays all of tags for your currently selected library organized in their categories and sections.
Actions in the Top Bar:
- Select a Library - Click on the ‘Browsing’ dropdown to select a space to display the library for.
- Refresh - Reloads the viewport.
- Create Tag Categories - Add categories to your library, which are like custom metadata properties.
- Create Tag(s) - Create color-coded tags within a category.
- Create Tag Section(s) - Create collapsable sections to organize your categories and tags in.
Additional Actions:
- Filter Assets Using Tags - Click on tags to filter the viewport to only assets that include them.
- Edit a Tag - Change a tag’s name and color.
- Move a Tag Category into a Section - Drag and drop categories into sections.
- Rename a Tag Category - Change the name of a category.
- Rename a Tag Section - Change the name of a section.
Viewport
The Viewport in the ‘Libraries’ interface is where the assets in the library are listed and can be filtered.
Interface Elements:
- Text Filter - Type in a text string to filter the viewport to list only assets that include that text in its name.
- Select All - A circle icon for selecting all the assets listed in the viewport.
- Selected Tags - A list of the currently selected tags, which can be deselected by clicking on them.
- Listed Assets - All of the assets in the library with the currently selected tag.
- Colored Tag Dots - Colored dots that represent each of the tags applied to a listed asset, which show the tag name as a tooltip when hovered.
Based on your assigned role, you should have access to all of the actions that are available for an asset in Spaces.
Libraries Actions:
- Apply Tag(s) - View existing tags for your selection and add new ones.
- Go to File - Jump to the selected asset in Spaces.
- Inspect an Asset - Click on an asset to open the Inspector, provided you’ve been granted permission.
Inspector
View a preview, metadata, and available actions for an asset, which may be a file or a folder-as-a-file format such as RED clips with the .RDC extension.
Available Actions in Top Bar (Left to Right):
- Copy Name - Click on the name of the asset to copy it to your clipboard.
- Refresh - Reload the Inspector and generate a new thumbnail.
- Copy Link - Copy the link to the current filter for the library.
- Download Thumbnail - Download the thumbnail that was generated for the
- Play on Desktop - Stream the file into VLC through the desktop app, which supports a much wider range of formats than web browsers.
- Pop-out Metadata - Open the Inspector as a card that will persist as you navigate the web app.
- Launch on Desktop - Mount the space the file/folder is in (if not already) and then open it in the default application for your operating system.
- Download - Download the file via your web browser.
Additional Actions:
- View Tags in the Inspector - See all the tags applied to the selected asset.
- Filter Assets Using Tags - Click on tags in the inspector to add them to the current filter.
- Unzip or Extract from a Zip - In the ‘Zip Contents’ metadata tab, you can select items and extract them.
